Gyula Halasz , his artist name is a French photographer Brassaï Hungarian origin, and also designer , painter, sculptor and writer. It was born September 9, 1899 in Brasov and died July 8, 1984 in Nice.
The artist studied painting and sculpture at the School of Fine Arts in Budapest before engaging in the Austro- Hungarian army during the First World War. In 1920 , he worked as a journalist in Berlin, while continuing to take courses at the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin .
Then it starts to look more closely at the photograph , photographing Parisian nightlife . And then published his first collection , in 1932 , which met with great success.
The artist also wrote seventeen books and numerous articles, including The Story of Marie . In 2000, 450 works by the artist were presented at the Pompidou Centre , on the occasion of a major retrospective on it .
